Nerve Endings Firing Away

After a long time, I went to a Best Buy (to return a Black Friday purchase). By a long time, I mean, after more than 6-8 years. The place has changed drastically for the worse. I mean, I remember when we used to walk around to gawk at the latest technology products and giant TV screens with superior displays than what we had at home.

Now it looks more like a warehouse than a showroom. There are TVs in cardboard boxes on the floor. Honestly, it seemed sad. Outside in the parking lot, there are many more curbside pickup spots than you would imagine. Yes, I know this is inevitable after most of the shopping has moved online, and, ironically, I visited the store only to return a product that I bought online.

To assuage some guilt, I tried to look for a product that I was planning to buy later, but the shelves that even had products displayed didn’t have the products in boxes below to pick up.

So I just walked out of there with my money refunded without knowing when I may be back. I don’t think the store may even be there next time I visit.
